A Child born of a lonely but tough young woman.
She was named after Chang'e, the goddess who was exiled to the moon, as an homage to her pactmaker's loneliness. The monkey with her is named "Wukong." She is a sweet, kind Child. Perhaps in an effort to make a stronger connection with the unwary young master, she calls him "dear."
Her appearance belies no hint of the unimaginable power she possesses.

Story Dialog Edit
Awakening I: Human SpringEdit
|Chang'e||Hello, Master. I've been waiting for you. You always seem so tired. Come now, don't just stand there. Please, come this way. Huh? What's wrong? You're unusually quiet today. Are you that exhausted?|
|Master (in his mind)||Not exactly...more like unsure of what to do next. Childs frequently come and go as they please, but Chang'e hasn't shown up in a long time.|
|Chang'e||Or are you just shy? Teehee...you haven't changed a bit.
We can keep staring at each other if you like...but for now, please come this way. Instead of talking about fighting or the Archfiend Contest yet again, why don't we talk about something fun? You know...you never come next to me.
|Master (in his mind)||I tried to answer her "That's a tall order for someone with social anxiety..." but Change's soft murmering cut me off.|
|Chang'e||Teehee...I don't know why I was in such a rush before. I finally realized that I have plenty of time. Yes...I still have lots and lots of time, thanks to you. Let's chitchat about nothing in particular, and while the time away.|
|Mei||Welcome! Have some dim sum, on the house!|
|Master||Oh, uh, thanks, but we're okay...
B-B-besides, we don't have any money!
|Mona||Ooh, these look yummy♥|
|Master||Hey! Don't eat those!|
|Mei||It's okay, they're on the house! Go ahead, eat up! I was so scared when Wukong was gone! Go on, Wukong, say thank you!|
|Mei||Hehe, Wukong says "thank you" too!|
|Master||*Sighs* I really don't have time for this.|
|Mei||Huh? Oh, gosh, I'm sorry! I didn't realize you were busy. Did I totally fail to pick up on that?|
|Lisa||Not at all. Simply running around aimlessly is not an effective method. That said, Master is right. We can't afford to simply laze about, either.|
|Mei||Oh...I'm sorry I made things worse...Say, is there anything I can do to help?|
|Chang'e||And as a result of a single quarrel...I ended up a demon. I had no idea what was going to happen to me.|
|Master||I-I'm sorry about that...But, you know, I did try to say no...|
|Chang'e||Teehee, I'm just kidding. Even now...I want to take care of you. If you wish to apologize, you can apologize to Wukong for turning him into a demon as well.|
|Chang'e||Oh? teehee...Wukong seems to be enjoying himself too. In that case, there's no problem. It just means we have long lives ahead of us...My human life may have been cut short...But my demon life will be much longer, I hope...|
Awakening II: Past Spring Edit
|Chang'e||I've been waiting for you, Master. Or rather...Wukong has.|
|Master||You sure? He doesn't seem overly concerned with me...|
|Chang'e||Oh? That's strange...
|Master||It's okay. Most animals besides cats don't tend to like me, anyway.|
|Chang'e||But Wukong is very fond of you. Perhaps he's just in a bad mood today. Oh, come to thinkof it, Davi told me something interesting.|
|Master||She did? What'd she say? You should pretty much take everything she says with a grain of salt. She doesn't know the first thing about anything, though you wouldn't know it from listening to her.|
|Chang'e||No, it was nothing like that. She asked me why I was with a monkey, not a rabbit, because she thought I was supposed to be with a rabbit.|
|Master||...I guess it's true what they say about broken clocks.|
|Chang'e||Teehee...at any rate, even though the original Chang'e and I may share a name, she is her own person, and I am mine. When I smiled and told her it was a good question, Davi smiled back and left.|
|Master||Is that so?|
|Chang'e||She is much more pure of heart than you think. So pure that it sometimes backfires on her.|
|Master||Don't say things like that. It'll only encourage her. If she gets any more "pure-hearted," I don't know if I'll be able to take it.|
|Chang'e||There you go, saying things you don't mean again...You should be nice to Davi once in a while. Now that I've become a Child...I know why everyone looks up to you. Or rather...Why they love you, perhaps in the platonic sense. Once they leave the world they know, and find themselves all alone...You are the only one who is there for them, and is kind to them.|
|Master||Gwuh? I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't done anything all that special.|
|Chang'e||That's true. But it's exactly in those ordinary actions where your love comes across. At least...it does for me.|
|Chang'e||...You just imagined something strange, didn't you? Just so you know, the love I speak of is not like the love you're thinking of! You probably have no idea how grateful I was to you the first time we met. At the time, all I had was Wukong. When I think back to when he disappeared, my body still tenses up with worry. Master...Back then, you had some urgent business to attent to, yet you still stayed with me and looked until we found him, didn't you? It may sound strange, but you saved me back then. Even though...you're a demon. So...please don't hesitate to call on me. I'm here for you whenever you need me.|
Awakening III: Demon Spring Edit
|Master||Chang'e goes out for walks a lot.|
|Chang'e||Good day, Master.|
|Master||And she always turns up at ususual places, a smile on her face, almost as if she was waiting for me.|
|Chang'e||Teehee...I see you found me once again!|
|Master (in his mind)||It's not like I was looking for you. I keep saying it's dangerous to-|
|Chang'e||"I keep saying it's dangerous to be out on your own." That's what you're thinking, isn't it? You worry too much, Master. You don't need to be concerned. I'm stronger than you think."|
|Master (in his mind)||She's definitely right about that. Chang'e was very strong, right from the moment she was born. So much that it's hard to believe she's my Child, honestly.|
|Master||But that aside...|
|Chang'e||"But that aside...I worry about all my Childs." Is that what you wish to say? Honestly...So you say the same thing to every one of your Childs? Treating them all the same, without playing favorites? You're only going to get hurt if you keep spoiling them like that, you know.|
|Master (in his mind)||If that ever happens, I just have to fight and win.|
|Chang'e||"Is that ever happens, I just have to fight and win."
...That's what you just thought, isn't it? I've heard you say that countless times too. It's rare to find a demon so easy to read as yourself. Anyway, let's just stay and relax a while. It's peaceful here.
|Master||Okay, but just for a little while.|
|Chang'e||Of course. After all, time itself is but a series of "little whiles."
...Haha. There you go making that face again.
|Chang'e||You just thought "What face?" didn't you? You pretend to be disinterested in everything, Master. But you're actually quite a keen observer. I don't think you lack interest so much as...you're nervous. My, I see you disagree...Teehee, you're right. It's my mistake. Since I became a Child, it seems I've become overly chatty.|
|Wukong||Ook ook eek...|
|Chang'e||Right? Even Wukong agrees.|
|Wukong||Eek eek ook!|
|Chang'e||...Oh?...Sh-shall we go home now? How could I have done that? I'm so embarrassed...|
|Master||Huh? What happened all of a sudden?|
|Chang'e||I shall protect you whenever you need. But, for now, I...Let's just go home! You probably think this is awfully sudden...But I promise, it's not what you think it is!|
|Master (in his mind)||Chang'e said, "i'm sure you have a long life ahead of you. I wonder what springtime is like for demons..." and pulled me by my hand. i still have no idea what she meant, or what she was so flustered about...Women really are inscrutable.|
